I saw this sign by Lilywillow Designs at the Skeleton Leaf stall at the Finders Keepers Markets yesterday and thought it would make for a relevant Monday post. I’m not the biggest fan of weekday-related status updates. For example, if you’re going to write “TGIF” every Friday without fail then I will be forced to hide you from my Facebook feed. Same goes for complaining about Mondays. Everybody hates Mondays. Or something like that. But you know what? Monday doesn’t last forever and soon enough it’ll be Tuesday and you won’t have anything to complain about (until next Monday but in case you haven’t realised this whole days of the week thing is cyclical and there’s no way out so the sooner you get used to that idea the better). So, chin up buttercup. Stop whining and start sending out some happy vibes. The people who have to read your status updates will thank you for it. Trust me.

This made me laugh, were on the same page. I got so sick of people i didn't actually care about whining that i cut 650 people from fb, it was liberating. xE
I don't even think I know 650 people! haha. My friend count is at a tidy 180 (and even then sometimes it feels like too much.
"Well it was Friday night last week, it'll be Friday night next week and every week until we're dead and even then the whole rotten business will on and on and on."
there's a black books quote for nearly every occassion
hahaha YES!
I never understand those people that post TGIF EVERY Friday, my god is your life that bad? Do something about it! 😉
Exactly. Life is what you make it etc.
Well said. If there's a day you don't like a certain day they it's your life you need to look at. Really cool sign, I'm well into that.
Buckets & Spades
The sign is by Lilywillow Designs – I came across them at the markets on the weekend and they do lots of neat stuff.
Happy Monday!!! Sending you lots of happy vibes.
YAY! Right back at ya Carmen. xx
This is such an awesome sign! Not just for the words, but the typography too. Perhaps it's because I work most weekends, but I never got the whole Friday excitement/dreading Monday thing. Fair enough you like your days off, but if you have to complain on Facebook every. Single. Week, well, there's something not right in your life there! People should just learn to enjoy their lives more and appreciate the fact they even have a job. It's all about attitude, I say!

I think some people might just think it's the 'done thing' but I think it's just a bit boring and unoriginal. Surely you have something more worthwhile to say than "TGIF" or "Not looking forward to Monday morning". If anything I think it's the people who have to work through the weekends or odd hours that are more entitled to complain!
Love the sign!!!
