With summer just around the corner I’ve been assessing my footwear options. My favourite ankle boots and lace-ups are slowly getting less and less wear, and I’ve resorted to wearing the same patent black sandals over and over again. I also came to the sad realisation that many of the sandals I had religiously worn for the past few summers were well and truly past their use by date. You know what that means? Time for new shoes! I finally jumped on the Salt Water Sandals bandwagon and bought a pair from The Happy Cabin. I was pondering buying them online but I’m so glad I bought them in store because I got to have them properly fitted plus it’s always nice to support local businesses. On the other, completely consumerist, end of the scale are these Topshop slingbacks I bought on sale. I love me some metallics and I think they’ll be a nice way to smarten up a casual outfit. So, I think I have my dressy and casual footwear options sorted for now.

How do you find the fit of the Saltwaters? I've been wanting a pair for such a long time now, although it seems to be so difficult to find an online stockist which actually ships to NZ…
I'm usually an AU 10 and the Salt Water size 8 fits me fine – so it's the usual UK conversion. They're very firm to start with around the front but the SA said they're meant to be quite fitted to stop the feet from sliding around when the leather stretches. I wore them the other day and had no issues!
OOH! I love those Saltwater sandals! I kinda want some, haha…I'll have to check them out for next year 🙂

I'm also guilty of not buying enough summer-appropriate shoes, mainly because I think they can look really flimsy/tacky.. Both of your pairs look gorgeous, though!
Yep! Some sandals look like they'd break with one wear. These Salt Water sandals seem pretty sturdy though.
I love the sandals, I've been teetering on the edge of buying a pair of Saltwater ones for a while but I just can't decide which colour to get!
I stood in store for a good 15 minutes or so with my friends and the shop assistant deliberating colours. It was a very pragmatic choice (needed a pair of tan sandals) but now I want to get more colours! haha
I love the sandals!

I think Hollie would like these Salt Water things, not heard of them myself.

They're very much a blogger-induced buy. I keep seeing them around so thought, why not? Apparently you can wear them in water (hence the name) so it'll be interesting to test that out.
So love those brown sandals!
being from the UK it's so weird seeing people buying summer clothes and the salt water sandals are so perfect they make me wish winter was over already! x
The opposing season thing always gets me too – the grass is always greener etc.
adore those brown sandals
