premiere thursdays: diana vreeland

Finding exciting things to do on a weeknight in Brisbane can be a bit, well, non-existent. Luckily, Palace Centro Cinemas are upping their game with Premiere Thursdays – a monthly event that allows audiences to view a film on its opening night. On top of that, each event will be themed towards the film being shown. Fun! To kick things off, the inaugural event on November 22 will feature the fashion biopic Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel. Vreeland’s career as an editor-writer for Harper’s Bazaar, editor-in-chief of Vogue, and consultant to the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art makes her one of the most revered figures in fashion history. No doubt, this documentary about her life will be an interesting and insightful viewing. To top off the nights’ proceedings, iconic fashion haunt Blonde Venus has also jumped on board, offering up two $100 gift vouchers for the best dressed and most photogenic attendees on the night. Tickets to the event are $15 and includes a glass of Brown Brothers Prosecco on arrival. Needless to say, I’m already pencilling Premiere Thursdays into my diary.
