popbasic

I’ve never hopped on the subscription beauty box bandwagon, mainly because I’m not a big beauty product person. But a monthly fashion subscription? I’m all ears! Enter: Popbasic. The concept behind Popbasic is pretty simple. Sign up and you’ll get one basic item, two trend-based items, and a ‘beauty’ or ‘lifestyle’ surprise delivered to your door each month. Not only is it a fun way to build up your wardrobe (who doesn’t love receiving parcels?) but the whole idea of mixing basics with trend based items means that it has universal appeal. Costs will range between $50 and $100 depending on the season but if there’s a particular item that catches your eye there will also be the option of buying it separately. Intrigued? Then be sure to sign up over on the Popbasic website to get first dibs (I already have!) Popbasic have also recently released a lookbook and video for their first micro-collection which you can sneak a peek at above.

  1. Not sure about this, as it is clearly way more expensive in comparison to the beauty products, though I understand why. I guess it can be too big of a risk if you end up with things you hate and spent $100 on them!

    1. True. I guess that's why they've chosen to have the 'main' item as a basic perhaps – greater chance of broader appeal? Getting a standard price locked down would no doubt be more reassuring for customers. Depends on the brands/quality too. Although to get 4 fashion items in the $50-$70 range would be a bit of a bargain considering the cost of some things these days. It'll be interesting to see when it launches, anyway!
