beginning boutique: summer looks like this

Sometimes I wonder if the person who dreams up these Beginning Boutique lookbooks and I share the same brain. Seriously. Film cameras, cupcakes, Penguin Classics – three of my favourite things! Not to mention that two of the Penguin Classics the models are toting come under the category of My Favourite Books of All Time. I can’t see the title of the other one, but I’m sure I’d like it too. I may be focusing mainly on the props, but that’s because the pretty clothes are a given. Upon viewing this lookbook I’m not only left with the urge to read a book, eat some cupcakes and take some photos; but also to slap on some bright red lipstick while doing so. Well played, Beginning Boutique, well played.

  1. The third one is 'A Year in Provence' by Peter Mayle.
Don't mind me, I work in a bookshop.

I agree about noticing the props most, hopefully that was the intention, but even if it wasn't the vibe these photos give is great – fun, lighthearted, cool and joyous.
Sounds like my cup of tea!

  2. gorgeous!

I love pulling out my penguin copy of Wuthering Heights on the train. Even though I could be reading it on an iPad the covers are so quintissentially awesome.

    Great post.

  3. ahhh. most perfect lookbook ever?! even if it does give me cupcake and reading-breakfast-at-tiffany's cravings, it's so, so beautiful. thank you for sharing (: xxx

  4. @Leah: thanks for figuring that one out! It's now on my to read list.

@polkadotsandsparkles: my life long goal to to own all the Penguin books. I'm a sucker for complete sets haha

@tara: I THOUGHT SO! That makes it doubly awesome.

  5. I only wish that when I used to have sleepovers with my girlfriends in primary school that I looked this good and had such perfectly styled hair 🙂 And instead of Penguin Classics we giggled over the rude bits in Mills and Boons. Classy.
