travel photos: château de versailles

I always thought I preferred a minimalist aesthetic when it came to design interiors. That was before I visited the Palace of Versailles. Now I’m all about chandeliers and excess. You should see how many photos I took of chandeliers. It was bordering on obsessive. Those French monarchs really knew a thing or two about grandeur. Other than that, there’s not much I can say to adequately describe Versailles. The place is massive. You really just have to see it for yourself.

  1. Oooo, decadent! The problem with decadence is that you've got to have a big entrance hall/ballroom/etc to put things like chandeliers in, and gold leaf wall paper! And of course, lots-o-money.
But i do like things like fancy plasterwork in modern homes/non-palaces lol
    Very pretty ^^

  2. It's really great you had the time to visit Versailles ! I could spend way too long there. Even if sometimes I find it unbelievable that people actually lived with such grandeur and decadence, I love its atmosphere full of history …
