the thrift exchange: floral outfit

For those of you who have been following The Thrift Exchange challenge, you might remember that the second theme was ‘florals‘. I received this colourful shirt from Jaharn last week and I instantly knew that it had to be part of a fun, casual outfit. Styling it proved to be a bit of a challenge though. My first instinct was denim shorts, but then scrapped the idea as it was a bit too predictable. Then I perused my skirt collection, but nothing really jumped out at me. Then I spied a bit of lace peeking out from a drawer and had my light bulb moment. Ultimately, this is something I’d like to wear to the beach but seeing as Brisbane weather has been pretty bipolar lately, I don’t see that happening any time soon. Sigh. Be sure to check Jaharn’s blog (iamvintagelover.com) to see how she’s styled her floral outfit. We sent off our ‘sheer’ items for the third challenge last week, so stay tuned to see how that one goes!
