wearing: polka dot tops and tan shorts

I picked these shoes up at an op shop for $5. I was pretty chuffed because a) I can never find decent shoes in my size; and b) they were in tip top condition and looked as if they had hardly been worn. Or so I thought. The second time I wore them the sole completely fell off. Apparently the glue had weakened, probably due to me stomping about in the rain the first time I wore them (I just couldn’t help myself). Luckily, the shoe repair man was able to work his magic so hopefully they’ll last for a while yet.

  1. I love this outfit! DIY vintage shorts? I take it they were trousers and you turned them into shorts yes?
You make polka dots look casually awesome (excuse my lame word pairings)

  2. @Hiroko: haha it's ok, I'm one for lame word pairings myself. And yes, the shorts used to be trousers. I really didn't know how to best explain it, so hopefully everyone else follows that same train of thought!

  3. Really glad you could save your shoes because they're so lovely! Also really love the polka dots with the mustard colour x

  4. Those shoes are so pretty! I always look for shoe sin thrift stores 'cause you just never know what you're gonna find. Most of the time I leave without finding any but every now and then a gem comes along!

  5. This combo is definitely a winner. I actually wore something almost identical the other day!

You did a fab job on the shorts, they look like they came straight off a rack from Topshop (but even better because they are vintage).

  6. I NEVER find ANYTHING in the op shop. That's a lie actually, I found a basket that we keep fruit and veg in… but apart from that πŸ™ great find lady!!! Loving the dots too. xox

  7. This happens every time I buy any vintage shoes – op-shop, etsy.. But having a good cobbler is so handy, and happy for your shoes too!

I'm loving sifting through your blog and all your adorable finds!
