the thrift exchange: striped outfit

Hello there! You may remember that a few months ago Jaharn from iamvintagelover.com and I embarked on an inter-continental thrifting challenge we dubbed The Thrift Exchange. Well, after a few delays, you can now see the fruits of our labour. The first challenge we set ourselves was ‘stripes’ and Jaharn picked out this lovely pleated skirt for me. Pleats and stripes: she got me down to a tee! Largely influenced by Karen Walker’s SS2011 collection (which I’m still in awe of) I decided to pair this skirt with a bright orange top. Be sure to pop on over to Jaharn’s blog to see how she styled her stripey outfit! I think she’s done a stellar job. We’ve given ourselves an extra month to complete the second theme which is ‘florals’. It’s proving a bit harder than expected, on both ends, but hopefully a last minute thrifting expedition will bring the goods!
