film photos: after the rain

Fenced flowers
Feet/After the rain
Some end-of-roll photos. You know, those ones where you go around snapping miscellaneous objects just to finish off the film? I’ve grown up with my dad calling them end-of-film-dog-photos. Mine are always a case of end-of-film-feet-photos. I took these one afternoon after an epic bout of torrential rain. I think they’ve got a certain moodiness about them, but I don’t know, maybe that’s just what I want to see. I’m always admiring those who can capture and and evoke certain moods with their photographs. You know, those ones where you take one look and you just get overcome with feeling. You don’t exactly have to know what feeling it is, but it’s there. Does anyone else know what I’m on about? Maybe all this babbling is the result of my morning caffeine hit. I think so.

  1. haha how funny! I do the SAME thing with the end of my roll, feet pictures are cute and easy 🙂
I love the earth after the rain, it is so beautiful.
    lovely pics!

    xx

  2. It's very true, the end of a film is either of pets, plants or odd objects.

I get what you mean, it's pretty amazing people who can do that what a photo. But i get the feeling you're expressing in the bottom picture.

  3. Beautiful pictures. Especially love the second. I totally agree with the whole 'end-of-film-photos' being something completely unrelated to the previous ones, but I guess that's what makes them special x

  4. yup, totally get it. i wish i had the 90% perseverance that seems to be required to do photography well…. but these are really nice, and especially so because they are supposed to be write-offs 🙂

  5. So funny how your dad calls those photo's. They are usually the most spontaneous and really capture the feeling and mood of that moment 🙂 I know what you mean
    those shots are beautiful btw

  6. What a great post! And these photos made me feel exactly your blogpost title – as if the I'm witnessing the calm after rain. They're very very beautiful.
