lomo luggage

Remember this old suitcase I picked up on an op-shopping adventure a few months ago? Well, after a bit of head-scratching as to what its purpose would be, I decided that it would make a nice home for my Lomo cameras (as you can see, I’m one of those people that likes to keep everything in their original packaging). I’ve nearly finished the film on my Diana Mini (Byron Bay, random adventures) so I’ll have take a few quick snaps so I can get that developed. I also took my Canon film camera to Oktoberfest, but only got half way through the roll. Hopefully I’ll finish it next weekend, so you can all see pictures of me demolishing a giant pretzel (with the help of my friends of course), drinking out of steins, and looking like a drowned rat after trekking through the rain.

  1. I LOVE YOU AND YOUR LOMOS!!!
i don't have a lomo yet.. but in time I will. I'm eye-ing a Holga camera. πŸ˜€ which one was your first lomo?

  2. Oh my goodness, that is exactly how I keep my lomo cameras. With their original boxes as well. Except for my Diana because I use it much more frequently than the others. Do you prefer the diana or the holga?

  3. I love the composition of your second photograph. Beautiful colors. I am not keen on getting a Lomo camera for myself. Much more compact than a DSLR for daily pictures around campus! Hahah. As if my lab garments and textbooks weren't heavy enough!

  4. Oh … *gasp !
I'm so envious of you collection! And that suitcase is to absolutely die for! And don't worry I keep everything in their orginal packaging as well.. somehow it makes them still feel a tad bit 'new'.

come by for a visit sometime.

  5. @ching: My first one was a supersampler. Then holga, diana. Next up is a fisheye (hopefully!)

@Sundari: my Diana spends most of the time out of the box too. I prefer the Diana to the Holga, but maybe that's partly due to it being the newest of the lot.

  6. nice lomo collection you have there! very similar to my own πŸ™‚
i love using old suitcases for storage! i use mine to store my scarves, knitted items and belts. it looks so cute on display and makes my accessories easily accessible <3

  7. Love the suitcase. Love the cameras. It's a match made in heaven!
ps. Also love the look you're rockin' in the last post…gotta love librarian chic! xx

  8. I love the idea! I'm also one of those people who keep the packaging, not alone! Depending on the item, sometimes I put it back into the box and take it out everytime I use it D:
Can't wait to see the pictures!

  9. I love vintage suitcases! I found an amazing bright red suitcase on a verge throw out about a month ago. It is so cute, it has purple interior!
I had the same problem though, wondering what to use it for… but I've decided to use it in an upcoming Vintage market that I have a stall in.

    Love the blog xx

  10. @Vicky: 120 film is pretty expensive, but mine all use 35mm film so that keeps the costs down a bit. I also have a negative scanner, so only ever get negatives only develeoped which is a lot cheaper than getting prints.

@imnotunfaithful: would love to see yours! And yes, suitcase storage is very addictive haha.

@Nell: thank you! It's a look that I'm a bit addicted to atm.

@Hiroko: Good to know there are other package keepers out there. Sometimes I think my habit is a bit obsessive! My holga and supersampler stay in their boxes most of the time since I use my diana the most.

@Patricia: So true! Better keep an eye out for any potential thieves haha

  12. This suitcase is totally magical!!! I am so excited that you're into Lomo – I just discovered their store down the street from my apt in LA! WOW! I haven't really missed film much since I went digi in 2001, but that store REALLY made me want to take some old skool pics and get in a dark room… would love to see some of your photos!!!
    Lots of love,
